Reidar Eldrac has fled his home under threat of death from a vengeful father, and he hides in the land of his ancestral enemies. But when word reaches Reidar that his father—the protector of an island goddess—has perished under mysterious circumstances one thing becomes immediately clear:

With help from his uncle and backed by a mysterious patron, Reidar must journey north to a city under siege to collect an artifact of godhood. They must be quick and determined and utterly ruthless—for there are others who have heard of the goddess’ fall.
